Guide · Hacked Facebook account recovery
Your business Facebook got hacked. Here's how to get it back.
Start with these steps. They're free and they work for a lot of people. If they don't work for you, we can take over the recovery.
Do this first
Five steps, in this order.
- 01
Check your email first
Look for a message from Meta saying your email or password changed. Many include a link to undo the change and secure your account. Use it right away.
- 02
Go to facebook.com/hacked
This is Meta's official page for compromised accounts. Choose the option that matches what happened and follow the prompts from a device you've logged in on before.
- 03
Confirm your identity
Meta may ask for a photo ID, a video selfie, or codes sent to an old email or phone number. Use the same name and details that were on the account.
- 04
Secure everything once you're back in
Change your password, turn on two-factor authentication, remove unfamiliar admins from your Page and Business Manager, and log out of unknown devices.
- 05
Check your ad account
Hackers often run ads on your card. Review recent charges in Meta's billing settings and contact your bank if you see any you didn't make.
Instagram and Google too
Locked out of something else?
Instagram recovery works much the same way through Meta's login help. For a hijacked Google Business Profile, start from Google's ownership request. Account Recovery covers Facebook, Instagram and Google.
Questions people ask
How long does Facebook account recovery take?
Once a recovery request is with Meta, it often takes 7 to 14 days. Simple cases, like undoing an email change, can be faster.
Can I call Facebook to get my account back?
Meta doesn't offer phone support for most accounts. Be careful of anyone who claims to be Meta support and asks for money or your password.
What if the hacker removed me as a Page admin?
Recovering your personal profile comes first, because Pages and Business Manager are tied to it. After that, the Page access can usually be restored.
When should I get help?
If the steps above fail, your identity checks keep getting rejected, or the account runs your business, we can handle it for a flat $600.
