Overview

Blue ran social media and produced brand materials for Florida Gulf Coast University's Office of First Year Experience while she was a student there. The account's follower count doubled while she managed it.

Alongside the feed, she led the printed pieces the office is known for: the annual Parent & Family Calendar, the incoming student planner, and peer advisor recruitment materials.

§ The Problem

What they came to us with.

First Year Experience has to reach two audiences that barely overlap: incoming students who live on their phones, and their families, who want something they can hold and put on the fridge. The work had to serve both without splitting into two disconnected brands.

§ The Approach

How we answered.

For three consecutive years Blue creatively led the FGCU Parent & Family Calendar, a 28-page annual print piece: developmental meetings, design drafts, creative direction, and standardized monthly layouts. Every incoming student household and every campus office and employee received a printed copy.

She independently designed the cover of the mass-produced FGCU Student Planner given to incoming students, shooting her own original photography for the 2020 cover. She also produced the digital and physical promotional materials used to recruit peer advisors and orientation leaders, including original photography she shot for the ads. These calendar, planner, and recruitment pieces were physically printed and distributed, not online assets.

On social, she created "Why FGCU Wednesday," a weekly Instagram Stories video series with its own highlight, featuring short, entertaining student testimonials built to showcase student diversity and connect peer advisors with incoming students. For Eagle Family Weekend, the office's annual campus event, she ran Facebook countdowns, collected testimonials, and designed the merchandise.
